Christmas in April

I've mentioned before how I'm a total cheap ass when it comes buying things for myself. When it comes to almost anybody else, these babies - $$$$ - don't seem to exist or at least don't have such a huge impact on my decision to purchase or not. Case in point, I really, really, really, and I mean really want the coveted KitchenAid mixer
Which model? Nylon coated or burnished beaters?
I have no idea, but red is a must! But it's for how much?!

My poor wedding dress has been hanging on a hanger by its chinny chin chin hanging straps - 7 months after our wedding.
I will bite the bullet and just get it over with. Soon.

My hands and feet desperately need a mani/pedi. I've only gotten these a handful of times in my life. Literally. Junior and Senior prom (1, 2), when I was a bridesmaid in my cousin in law's wedding (3), my bridal portraits (4), and our wedding (5)! My cuticles need major TLC, but the nail technician would cringe in disbelief at how morbid they are. It doesn't help I work at the shop and clean my hands a thousand times a day, which means they're uber dry. Ew! At least my nails are strong and can grow and grow and grow...

Oh so pretty... Mine - not so much.

My work shoes have long outlived their life expectancy, but I make them hang in there with frequent stops at the shoemakers. Anybody else have issues with their heel caps wearing down way too soon??

I need new work shoes - stat!

Then of course there's always the need to update my work wardrobe to accomodate the new trends and season. Shopping spree anyone?? *insert big sly grin* I know, I know, my Christmas list in April are all wants and no needs, but let's not get too technical okay? New work clothes and shoes is a need right? I mean, I gotta look professional and kempt, otherwise, how else am I going to afford my need for the KitchenAid mixer to try all the delicious recipes that keep showing up in my Google Reader??? Don't mind the current mixer hanging out in our kitchen. It's um, a place holder! Yea! A place holder/decoration... =D

What's your take on buying stuff for yourself versus for others? Any recommendations on which KitchenAid mixer I should get (when I decide to close my eyes and just hand over my credit card)?

Happy Friday everyone and have an awesome weekend! North Texas is expecting upper 80's this weekend - fabulous! Just no wind please mkay? Thanks!

Drugs and Clothing

Have you ever watched Weeds on Showtime? It's addicting, well Mary-Louise Parker is captivating (because she's drop dead gorgeous) and her outfits are to die for!!

Remember my recent Ineedtoupdatemycloset vent? Mary-Louise Parker's outfits in the show are super cute and I want!!! I ran across ModCloth and am totally loving their vintage clothing.

I totally heart this dress!!

Maybe there's hope for me yet or am I still in the "please stay away from fashion" category?

Moped please?

Fortunately for me, I live close to a light rail station (15 minutes drive from the casa) and ride DART to work (45 minutes). Which means I only need to get gas once a week - weee!! Any who, I had to run some errands for the shop yesterday since the hubby was tied up running other errands. While pulling out of the park and ride lot, this lovely sign promptly notified me that gas is absolutely redonk.

Really??

The thing about buying supplies at a retail store versus from a wholesale/vendor is this:
100 coupons for $3.00 off your next transaction

Anybody want me to pick up some groceries for them?? =D

Lost: Feminine traits

1 week into blogging, and this will be the third time my woman card is getting pulled, but I digress. Truth about Alice #2: I don't do shopping. I have zero patience for shopping and have the lamest style - ever! Kelsey at Minted Life (she has such a natural beauty and her wardrobe is fabulous) is doing a weekly showcase of her wardrobe so I'll do that next week and show you what I mean by lame. I see what I like, but it's usually rather simple and boring. Items purchased also have to be able to double dip aka work with dress slacks for corporate world and with jeans for the weekends - cost savings 1 point, variety in clothing - 0.  For instance, LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress, but for $150, not so much.

Anyhow, my awesome hubby and awesome friend Lilli do my shopping for me. When they go shopping, they just keep an eye out for something I might like and just pick it up. Lilli picks out clothes I wouldn't take a second look at on the hanger nor pick myself, and yet I find myself loving those articles and the hubs likes the spice in my wardrobe. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE looking at the different outfits everyone wears and wish I could dress like them, but either a) I'm too cheap to buy "nice" clothing, b) I'm too wallflower to try anything new, or c) both a and b. Once again, I digress. The main reason for this post - I'm a bridesmaid in one of my good friend's wedding! YAY!!! Which means... dum dum dummmmmm - I gotta pick out a bridesmaid dress! *cue scary knife in horror movie sound*  The bride even sent me a lil prayer via text because she knows how flippin difficult this might be for me:

Her colors are charcoal gray and blush pink, and has left us to our own discretion on choice. Great! Leave can't.shop.for.herself.with.no.sense.of.fashion.girl a blank canvas. *cringe* At least this will give me a great opportunity to start stalking browsing WeddingBee again! Anyone have suggestions for a charcoal gray and/or blush pink dress for me? I'll buy you Starbucks!

Kate Spade - swoon

This image popped open when I opened up my email this morning:

Seems like I couldn't click on the link fast enough to check out what goods were available with the awesome $5 ground shipping on the order - sweet! The selection was slim, but everything Kate Spade hits a little pitter patter in the "want" department right? Here are a few of my faves:

 Some cute everyday purses

I absolutely love this wallet

Okay, back to reviewing the 10K. Don't tell my manager I slacked off for 20 minutes to do this post okay? Thanks! :) What are some of your favorite Kate Spade items?
